I’m Wearing: Zara Blouse, Max Studio coated jeans scored at T.J. Maxx (similar), Marc Fisher booties, Elliott Lucca Clutch, Michael Kors Gold Bracelet Watch, 46mm, chain bracelet (old), leather bracelet (similar) and earrings another T.J. Maxx win. My awesome photos by Melissa at Emory Photography.

If you’re looking for a simple way to update your look for spring, this polka dot blouse from Zara is it! This is the one I told you about last week. Black and white is a huge trend for spring and I can’t help it, there’s just something about polka dots that’s so playful and fun! I love the versatility of this blouse. I paired it here with black coated jeans (I’m just loving coated jeans!) However, it would also look great with denim or for a splash of color, you could pair it with your favorite colored jeans. Red or cobalt would look fab! And of course a skirt would work too!

Before I go, have I told you how much I love Elliott Lucca handbags? They are super high quality, trendy and my favorite part -  they won’t break the bank. This leather clutch was only $100. It comes in a variety of colors and even has an optional beautiful chain strap. Nordstrom usually has a great selection of Elliott Lucca. In fact, that’s where I bought my first one. You’ve got to check them out.

So did you watch any of the Academy Awards last night? I was tied for best dressed between Jessica Chastain

and Jennifer Lawrence

You look absolutely AMAZING in this outfit! I really love love how you look. My favorite from the Oscars was Jennifer Lawrence, she looks so elegant.

Hi Marie! Wow, thank you for the kind words. You can stop by my blog any old time!:) You know how you just “feel good” in some outfits? This was one of them and I guess it shows. I’m with you on Jennifer Lawrence. And didn’t she just look like the damsel in distress when she tripped going up the steps to accept her Oscar? I think it was actually perfect because they’ll always talk about it every year when they look back on the Oscars as “one of those moments”.

That polka dot blouse is such a lovely addition to your wardrobe! I can see it being such a versatile piece. Love how you styled it here..you look great xo

Hi Lauren! Thanks for stopping by! I can’t help it, I just love this blouse too and thanks for the compliment on how I styled it. I think it’s way versatile and makes a great addition to a spring wardrobe. I’m going to hop over and check out your blog!

The shoes are fabulous, Renita! Love them! If I had it in my budget right now, you would have sold me on the shoes ;)

Hi Whitley, thanks for stopping by again and for the sweet compliment on my smile. You’re a dolll! BTW, loved your “glamorous” grocery shopping post!

  • M.E.

Now there’s an outfit that fits your personality and style, Renita, so classy in black you are! How bright and cheerful it makes you look….and shows off your thin legs!!! I’d go shopping on a suburban street with you any day! And I agree with you, T.J. Maxx has some exceptional finds any day of the week!! Your 2nd best outfit yet!!! I loved both of your picks on the Oscar dresses, but also loved the red Jennifer Aniston’s dress. [Remember....I love RED.] So flowing and beautiful, too. Loving you during the blizzard of February 26th! LOL.

M.E. That makes me feel good that you think this outfit matches my personality. I take that as a supreme compliment. You must have caught me on a good day!:) I agree, Jennifer Aniston was lovely in her red dress at the Oscar’s. She always looks fab, doesn’t she?

  • Betsy

Wow, really, this is the best outfit on you!! When I saw the coated jeans everywhere this year, I immediately thought of you..I KNEW those would be right up your alley.
Gee…the Zara website shows the blouse with a pair of faux-leather shorts…..how come you didn’t get THOSE?? ;)

    • MyLifeShopping

Betsy, I do love the coated jeans. It’s funny that you thought of me when you saw them. They don’t look like they would be comfortable, but they are. I think they’re fun. Don’t you love Zara? I want more of their stuff. I just wish I had more places to wear that. Spending most of my days in work-out clothes doesn’t lend itself to investing in a lot of chic street style clothing…bummer. And regarding the shorts, I LOVE leather shorts, it’s just my legs are so darn skinny, I don’t always like myself in shorts (isn’t that crazy). It’s hard not to look top heavy. That’s not saying you won’t be seeing me in shorts this summer. I just have a hard time making an investment in a leather short. We’ll see…

I did go to Zara on your recommendation. I scored a LOT of stuff (ack…credit card bill coming this week), everything ranging from $10 t-shirts to an $80 blouse and a $100 trench. I love your partially tucked-in/ partially out blouse look. I think that we busty gals need to do that otherwise the completely un-tucked blouse ends up looking like a big tent. I’m still trying to master that technique. I just can’t get it right. If only I had a personal stylist of my own right here.

P.S., I’m soooooo “pinning” this one!!!!
(is that actually a verb?? I’m kind of a newbie)

    • MyLifeShopping

Betsy, I’m so flattered you’re actually pinning something from “my” site. Thank you so much!!!

  • Margo Royle

Renita ~ thank you for stopping by my blog and for your lovely comment. I agree with everything you said and it is MUCH easier to own/wear fancier clothes when you are not running around after children and thinking about saving up for college!! But I think you look absolutely adorable and I love the outfit you put together here. I’m always a sucker for polka dots and leather! I give many props to you as a totally put together mother because I know {from my sister-in-law} how much more difficult it can be. I’m very happy to have you as a new follower :)
