I’m dying to tell you all about my trip to the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference in New York last week, but things got a little crazy around here. My son was in a sledding accident the very same night I got home. He ended up with a concussion and a fractured collar bone. I’ve been making endless rounds to doctor’s offices ever since. Thank goodness he’s going to heal up and be just fine, but it was pretty scary to say the least!

Until I have my New York post up and ready, I thought I’d show you an outfit I wore.

Are you a Pinterest fanatic? It’s just so stink’n easy to get lost on there, isn’t it? I mean one minute I’m looking at fashion, then the next minute I see an awesome sounding recipe and pretty soon it’s two hours later and I’m left wondering, “Where am I and why am I here?!” At any rate, my inspiration for layering denim with fur came from these outfits I found on Pinterest:

I thought it was just genius to layer denim like this, so I tried it! I’ve noticed that the outfits I’m drawn to the most on Pinterest are those with layering. I’m trying to get better at it because it’s a fun and easy way to add interest to an outfit. I’ve got several layers today – a turtleneck layered with a bold necklace, layered with a denim jacket, layered with a leopard print fur. Sorry, you can’t really see the necklace in the pictures, but here’s the one I have on:

You might recognize it from the red knit dress I wore a week or so back. I’m getting tons of mileage out of this. I got it from Bright Lily, a Kitsy Lane on-line jewelry boutique I found on Twitter. The customer service is over the top and how about this plush box the necklace came in? It was so exciting opening up this package! If you’re on Twitter, check it out at @Bright_Lily.

So I’m wondering, do you get outfit inspiration from Pinterest? Have you ever tried to copy an outfit you saw there? How did it work out? I’d love to hear about it!

Hi Josephina! Thanks for so much for stopping by the blog. I have to say all this commotion with my son coupled with being behind from my two back to back trips has left me a little behind on things this week. I have full intentions of stopping by your blog! Was great meeting you too! Let’s keep in touch!

I have been looking to find a great white-on-white outfit on pinterest…not found anything yet. I’ll let you know.

I’ve actually seen quite a few. I’m going to be working on the post. I just think the white on white is so hot too! For my whole life I’ve wanted a white pant suit, but just can’t justify it, especially since I don’t work a real job.
