What I Wore: A Florida Get-Away

I’m Wearing: Boston Proper Top, White House Black Market Crops, Naot Sandals (similar), Bujibaja straw tote, Ray-Ban Sunnies

Wow, what a difference a thousand miles makes! Back home in Chicago it’s highs in the teens and down here in southeast Florida we’re looking at low 80′s! What a welcome departure from the cold and gloom up north! It was tough switching gears from dressing for brutal cold to warmth, but I managed!

When I’m on vacation with the kids, I tend to be totally casual. In fact, it was difficult to come up with an outfit for the blog that wasn’t just your basic t-shirt and cut-offs.

I wore this outfit to dinner last night. Since I’m always trying to travel light (my husband would laugh if he heard me say that), I like to bring items that will mix and match. I ordered this top out of Boston Proper a couple seasons ago. I love the crocheting and white of course goes with everything.

My sandals are made by Naot. If you haven’t tried Naots, I highly recommend them. They are so comfortable, have great support and are stylish too. I have trouble with plantar fasciitis if I walk too far in flat sandals. These sandals keep my feet happy and look good too. They’re a little on the pricey side, but they’re well worth it. They last forever and some styles even have cork soles that can be replaced when their cushioning wears out.

I picked up this comfortable and functional tote at the Barney’s outlet in Orlando last spring. I love it because it also doubles as a great beach bag. It adds a welcome splash of color to any outfit.

These pictures are for my friends who’re freezing up north. Sorry, I just have to rub it in!!

Wow, love that top. So cute! And I remember when you bought that bag at the Barney’s outlet….it looks GREAT! I don’t know how on earth you had time to do all of the holiday activities and then pack for vacation as well. It takes me DAYS to pack for a trip. Now, I could totally see you pulling an all-nighter to pack, but then WHY do you still look so great and not carrying all if the extra “baggage” under your eyes and dark circles?!

Hi Betsy, it was very hectic packing to leave for the trip. Especially
since I had non-stop guests at my house. It was worth it though. I think
I might have to take a little trip south every year after Christmas. It
was so relaxing and great to get soak up some warmth and sunshine. So
you can’t see the dark circle ‘cuz I was wearing my sunglasses!! I felt
so pale down there in FL too even with self-tanner.

I wish I was there! I love the white crochet top, it’s timeless! I like the pop of color the bag adds to the outfit, it’s NOT a,”I like the shape of it”. Looks like you had a great time:)

“I like the shape of it”…memories! Thanks for the comment Ann. I think
you might have seen this top before? It’s a classic. Can’t go shopping
every time I make a blog post (darn it!)!
