Back to school means back to school shopping and that means lots of buying and lots of returning.
When it comes to shopping, there are two things that totally irritate me: 1) When I know there’s a coupon I can use toward my purchase and I don’t have it and 2) When I can’t find my receipt for a return item and I end up getting a sale price or worse yet, not being able to return the item at all.
That’s why I’ve developed a system that keeps me organized and on top of all my receipts, coupons, and gift cards.
Have you ever seen those little accordion folders they make for organizing grocery store coupons? I use one for all my store receipts:
And one for all my coupons, gift cards and merchadise credits:
You can usually find these little file folders at Target or office supply stores like Office Max or Office Depot. I file everything in alphabetical order and I keep both of my organizers either in my purse or the main compartment of my car at all times. That way I always have them when I need them. Never mind the rest of my life is a disaster…my shopping paperwork is always in order. You can see I have my priorities in line!:)
Do you have a clever way of organizing your shopping receipts and coupons? I’d love to hear about it in the comments section of this post.
