One of the perks of blogging is people send you stuff to review. On Monday it was the great outfit from Athleta. Today, I’ve got a box of goodies from Influenster to tell you about.I lucked out and qualified for the Jolly Vox Box:
I can’t believe I hadn’t tried the Skinny Cow brand snacks/candies before this. There’s a reason Skinny Cow calls these things divine! They’re peanut butter créme flavored, but when I first took my first bite, I had to take a second look at the box to see if they were caramel filled. They have a perfect blend of flavor between peanut butter and caramel. It’s hard to explain, but my kids thought so too.
Trust me, these things are as delicious as they look . There are three chocolates in the pack, but even one satisfies a sweets craving. Once my kids got a taste of these things I didn’t stand a chance, so I hid them…bad mommy! Since I tried these I’ve also picked up the Skinny Cow Carmel Clusters and the Divine Caramels. Also AWESOME! And at only 130 calories per pack, you won’t break any new year’s resolutions. Unless you’re giving up sugar, then that’s another story!
When you think of duck tape, you think of it coming in those big thick huge rolls. So when I received this Duck Tape Brand Ducklings Mini Roll, I thought it was so cute. (Aren’t mini’s of anything just so cute?) Evidently my 13 year old daughter thought so too because she snatched it out of my hand, and I never saw it again. She says she’s going to use it to decorate her folders at school. I hate to say it, but that’s as far as DIY goes in our household. If we were crafty, I’m sure we’d have a lot of exotic uses for this, but you’ll have to find that on another blog.
Next up are Puffs Plus Lotion. These things are great! I stuck them in my jacket pocket when we were on our ski trip over the holidays. If you want to prevent dry peeling skin around your nose, these things are the way to go. What I liked about them is I didn’t feel any weird residue on my hands/fingers after using them. The lotion is there and it works, but you can’t feel it.
I love make up and the brown nude colors in this NYC New York Color HD Color Trio pallet are my first choice when it comes to an everyday look.
So you never really know about how an eye shadow will work out until you actually try it out.
If I was good at photo shop, I’d be smoothing over my wrinkled up 46 (almost 47) year old face, but I’m not, so I guess there’s no hiding it. I have wrinkles…anyhow, I’m here to talk about the shadow not my wrinkles so…I absolutely loved the neutral colors of this pallet and how they have just enough shimmer to make your eyes pop. What I didn’t like was the texture. I found the eyeshadow to be rather loose and fly away. It didn’t have enough staying power for me. Within an hour, it was worn off and it didn’t look like I had anything on. I also found that I need to use a lot of shadow to build up enough intensity. It would work in a pinch, but it wasn’t my favorite.
On to the Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer. I’m a big fan of Rimmel’s mascara, so I was excited to give their lip gloss a try.
Again, I loved the color of the lip gloss for an every day look. It gave just enough color and shine to give your lips a little pop. However, there’s more to lip gloss than color. I found the texture to be a little thin. I didn’t particularly like the way it felt on my lips. It also didn’t have a lot of staying power. It looked good for about the first 15-20 minutes then I felt like I needed to reapply. So I’d have to say this was good, not great.
