Happy new year all! I’ve missed you so much!
If you follow me on Facebook, you heard my mom’s been seriously ill for the last couple months. If you’ve ever dealt with an aging and ill parent then you know what I’m talking about when I tell you how time consuming and emotionally draining it is.
Today, my mom is being moved from the hospital to a nursing home in hopes she will regain her strength and be able to go home. With the holidays behind me, my mom on the rebound, and a new outfit to review from my friends at Athleta, I figured it was the perfect day to make a come back.
Before the arctic blast set in (today it felt like -40 degrees here in Chicagoland – BRRRR!), I got out to do this snowy photo shoot in some super cute and comfy clothes from Athleta. Check it out!

I find that Athleta’s clothing rarely disappoints, and this is no exception. This outfit has become my favorite for comfort and good looks on the go. In fact, here’s a picture of me wearing it on the plane enroute to Beaver Creek for our family ski trip over the holidays:
I love the tweed pattern of the material on this top, and the color is fab. It has a soft fleece lining on the inside which makes it super cozy and warm. I’m also a huge fan of the thumb holes to keep your sleeves in place and to double as mittens in the cold winter weather. The drop hem in the back is perfect for hiding your bum so you don’t look overexposed in your jeggings.
Speaking of jeggings, I think it’s so handy when jeggings have pockets. I found the pockets on these stretch denim look jeggings made them perfect for stowing my drivers license and boarding pass when traveling. Like most jeggings, they’re super comfortable, and the best part, they stay put and don’t sag. I give this outfit two thumbs up. I LOVE IT!
