10 Reasons To Go To T.J. Maxx This Weekend

Are you a T.J. Maxx Maxxinista? Well, if you’re not, you should be!  I’ve always had a penchant for T.J’s – I mean who doesn’t love a great deal? But now that I’ve got this fashion blog and I’m trying to put all these outfits together, I try to stop in once or twice a week. These past couple weeks, I’ve scored some really awesome ON TREND finds for spring.

If you’re looking for some inexpensive updates to your spring wardrobe, here are ten reasons you should head to T.J. Maxx…

#1 Calvin Klein Striped Dress:

Black and white  is huge this spring and so are stripes. This dress caught my eye and I was amazed at how flattering it was on. I love the little white skinny belt. It’s made with great material too – very forgiving.

#2 Red Jacket

I love this little red jacket. Red is always in style and this season is no exception. It’s a great pop of color and I love that this jacket can easily be dressed up or down. All you have to do is pair this with a white tee and a pair of jeans and you’re set!

3) BCBG MaxAzria Black and White Pumps

These pumps speak for themselves. Aren’t they amazing?

And how about this?

INSTANT OUTFIT!! Oh ya!

#4 Michael Kors Striped Cardy

I absolutely love this little cardy. The nautical look is all over this spring and like I mentioned previously, so are stripes. Pair this with a tank or button up shirt, a pair of capris and some little flats and you’re good to go!

#5 Purses – DKNY Cross Body Bags and Steve Madden Tote

I love cross body bags and these by DKNY are the perfect size and they’re even made with real leather. They had them in so many different colors (green, tan, orange, navy and black). I was so taken with them, I had to get two.

And how about the studded tote?  The first thing I thought of when I saw it was the new studded handbags by Michael Kors. Granted this purse is not as high quality as the Michael Kors versions, but it definitely works when running around with the kids or making a quick run to volunteer at school.

#6 Red Patent Loafers

Aren’t these Ellen Tracy loafers adorable? Loafers are everywhere this spring and they’re showing them in every color under the sun. I’m loving the red to go with black and white looks.

#7 Striped Cover-Up

I’m headed to Miami on a girl’s trip in April, and I can totally see hitting the beach in this little cover-up. Anything stripes/nautical and  you can’t go wrong. I especially like the empire waist. So happy with this purchase!

#8 Spiked Necklaces

Spiked necklaces are a big “street” look right now. I thought these were great and guess what, they look hot layered together too!

#9 Leather Bracelets

Aren’t these fun? They had these bracelets in so many colors, I had a hard time choosing. I stuck with classic colors, but at less than half the price as these from Nordstrom, I’m tempted to go back for more. They make a great gift idea too!

#10 A Gorgeous Scarf

Talk about a statement. I adore the pattern of this scarf and the gloriously bright colors. Tied on a hand bag or worn around the neck, this scarf makes a huge impact and who would’ve guessed I found it at T.J. Maxx?

So, I think I know what you’ll be doing this weekend!  If you get a chance, write back and let me know what you scored!

Wow, great shopping expedition! Very successful! I’d love to hear the original vs. TJ Maxx prices! And how come you are not MODELING these outfits?! We want to see them ON!

    • MyLifeShopping

I will be modeling them for sure (eventually) on the blog! As far as pricing, sometimes I think the original prices are actually lower than they really are. That Irish sweater I wore with the green vest said “original price $59.99″, and when I found it on-line it was for sale for $89! However, I will try to do that in the future.

Thanks for the comment, and thanks for the help on my IFB outfit planning. Hopefully we’ll run into each other at the conference!

Something funny I saw this week: a woman in NORDSTROM was kneeling down to look at sunglasses on the bottom shelf of the case. I could see the bottom of her shoes, and they still had the TJ MAXX price tag sticker on the bottom! SO funny! So busted!

    • MyLifeShopping

LOL! I have many the pair of shoes with the TJ’s stickers on the sole. Sometimes they’re so hard to get off (or I’m too lazy to take them off!).

  • Kirstin

I went to TJMaxx today and scored a new suitcase. A samsonite silhouette business upright with 360 degree spinners for $59! Gotta love the deals at TJMaxx!!

    • MyLifeShopping

Way to go, Kirstin! You can’t beat TJ’s!

Sorry this is so late to post, but I HAD to comment and hope for some advice. Ever since this post, I have been looking for a cute little short red jacket. I have purchased FIVE and they all have gone back. The first two were too long, and too formal and business-suit looking… I wanted something short and casual where you could turn the cuffs and wear it with jeans. The next two…ugh…horrible…I looked like a maitre d’ or a waiter in a stuffy restaurant. And the last one…oh, I thought I had hit it finally. But it was just not right. I give up. I don’t know WHAT makes the “right” little red jacket.

    • MyLifeShopping

Elizabeth, wow, you are on a quest! Jackets can be frustrating. It’s good you realize what makes the right jacket for you. I felt that way when I was looking for a leather coat this winter. There are a lot of components that make for the perfect blazer. As you mentioned, length is a biggy. If you’re lacking a waistline, a cropped blazer might be for you. If you’re bigger through the hips you may opt for a longer jacket. The other thing on my list is the lapel. If you’re busty this can make or break a jacket. If you’re busty, you’ll want to stay clear of jackets with a heavy lapel and go for ones are cleaner, lighter and simpler. Finally, like you said, the cuff can be a consideration if you want to turn them up. However, I think a jacket still looks great even if the inside lining isn’t anything special. Good luck with you’re search!
